QUALITY ASSURANCE

Lynter’s ductile iron manhole covers are manufactured under Class B125 to F900 of the current EN 124:2015 European Standard safety standards, with material of EN-GJS-500-7 as per BS EN 1563. All of our manhole covers are strictly tested every manufacturing batch to ensure we meet and surpass the technical specification required. We have our own engineering department with more than 20 years of experience, to ensure that all our products have the best technical competitiveness.

Lynter imposes rigorous quality procedures and inspections throughout the fabrication and packing processes

MATERIAL

DUCTILE IRON is spheroid graphite iron. The defining characteristic of this material is the shape (morphology) of the graphite. In ductile iron, the form of the graphite is in nodules, rather than flakes (as in grey iron). These nodules significantly improve the mechanical properties of the iron, making it stronger with increased flexibility and elasticity. Additionally, this spheroid structure inhibits the creation of cracks that are a common problem with grey iron.

By using ductile iron casting instead of grey iron, you will gain the following benefits:

• High Tensile Strength = thinner product which provides more strength

• Improved strength to weight ratio

• More resistant to corrosion than grey iron

• Better surface detail and finish

• Improved machinability

• Able to handle heavy weights during shipping and high traffic loads unlike grey iron that is known to crack under pressure.

• Increased flexibility and elasticity

• Reduced machine allowance

• Lower component cost

To ensure the highest quality in our product, Lynter International Limited uses Grade EN-GJS-500-7 iron that strictly meets the requirements of EN 1563 standard.

All manhole and gully products are designed and manufactured with safety as our first priority.

EN 124:2015

All manhole covers and gratings designed and manufactured by Lynter International strictly comply with the new European Standard EN 124:2015. This standard categories manhole covers and gratings into a number of classes identified by its bearing load. It also functions as guidance and recommendation for the location where each class should be installed, from Group 1 for light load to Group 6 for heavy load.

A15 / Group 1: which can only be used by pedestrians and pedal cyclists.

B125 / Group 2: Footways, pedestrian areas and comparable areas, car parks or car parking decks.

C250 / Group 3: For gully tops installed in the area of kerbside of roads which when measured from the kerb edge extend a maximum of 0.5 m into the carriageway and a maximum of 0.2 m into the footway.

D400 / Group 4: Carriageway of roads (including pedestrian streets), hard shoulders and parking areas for all types of road vehicles.

E600 / Group 5: Areas imposing high wheel loads eg. docks and aircraft pavements.

F900 / Group 6: Areas imposing particularly high wheel loads eg. Aircraft pavements.
